Transforming Communities

WELLBEING & LEADERSHIP EVENTS

A residential program designed to strengthen and support
grassroots women leaders

Manasprings encourages and educates women who help vulnerable and marginalised communities in Kenya. Facilitating Wellbeing & Leadership Events for grassroots women leaders, over two or four days are a major focus of Manasprings, given we believe that women who work on the frontlines need time on the sidelines.

Holistic women community leaders who work in inner city slums and remote rural areas need time for physical and psychological rest and for spiritual retreat. It is important for these women who serve the poor and marginalised to have the time, and to be in a place where they can be reminded that God’s world has beauty, quiet and peace, not just ugliness, poverty, and conflict. They also need a chance to learn from their lifetime experience of walking with the poor. They need time and the place to be able to sort out what has happened to them, and to make sense of it. They need to figure out what more they need to know, or be, and have the opportunity to learn or develop (Myers, Walking with the Poor).

Manasprings provides a safe space for women to connect, inspire and learn. The residential Women’s Wellbeing & Leadership Events strengthen and support grassroots women leaders in transforming communities for the wellbeing of all.

The cost of the Manasprings Women’s Wellbeing & Leadership Events varies depending on location, venue, and number of women attending, with costs starting at $10,000. Each woman contributes 500 KES (approximately $5.00) and their transport to get to and from the venue. We are extremely grateful to the generous donors who sponsor the Events, understanding that women who serve the poor and vulnerable for a lifetime, must experience a time to retreat, refresh, and reset.
